Each school in Malaysia has a designated International Student Officer. You can ask from him and you can also check the student manual issued by the school. In addition, here's more info. "Working Part-time While Studying in Malaysia All international students studying at public or private higher educational institutions are allowed to work part-time with effect from 15 February 2005. Conditions for part-time work Students are allowed to work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours per week only during semester breaks or holidays of more than 7 days; in Restaurants, Petrol Kiosks, Mini Markets and Hotels as long as the Student Pass remains valid. Students are not permitted to work as a cashier. In addition, in the hotel sector, students are not allowed to work as singer, masseur, musician, GRO and other activities deemed to be immoral. Application to work part-time must be made through the educational institution in which the student is studying. The student needs to be present with the educational institution representative at the Immigration Department when submitting the application".

When you reach here, you can put up in any budget hotels. Than get hold of the daily The Star. They have a column for room for rent. You can call up the landlord and negotiate. The rates vary in districts, status of property and facility.
2 :
there a bunch of websites offering both rooms and whole units for rent. Depending on where in msia u will be renting- the rent varies. In more urban metroploitan cities like KL and Penang- average rent for a room is abt RM550 and average rent for a 3 room apartment is RM1200.

Why doesn't my Nintendo DS Lite Charger work in Malaysia? It flashes the yellow light but only for one second. I am not joking. Please help me! I am having desperate days without my DS! Thank You! Jeff, I used the adapter. Should I still buy a new charger?

It has something to do with the electric power in the different countries. Depending on where you bought your charger, the power and electricity needed and used is different in both countries. this happened to me when i went to chine and used my DS charger from the us. it didn't work. i suggest you buy a charger in malaysia or wait till you go back to the place where you bought your charger.
2 :
The adapter should work. Else, you might need a new charger. If you travel often, get one that you can attach and carge to a laptop via USB.

by getting a job first
2 :
You first find an employer willing to hire you [ RTM, ASTRO, TV7..etc ]. It is THEM who will apply for a permit (Labour Office) to employ you. If successful, they will apply for a work permit (Immigration Office) for you on your behalf. With that permit, they send to you the documents to enable you to "land" in Malaysia on a Social Visit(temp employment) Visa. When you arrive in Malaysia, you meet up with your employer who then arrange to have the work permit endorsed in your passport. [ if your qualifications are nothing special, or if some locals can be found, or apply for the same job, it is unlikely that your employer will be successful to get the permit to hire...]
3 :
You cannot apply for a work permit in Malaysia by your own self without being hired to work for a registered company in Malaysia. Normally, the company that hired you will submit an application for you to the the relevant authority for approval.

DONT work if you don't have a permit. Apply for a permit, ask the Malaysian embassy in your country and they will tell you how to get a working permit. It may cost a lot, but at least you won't need to hide and run when the law enforcement arrives. An employer may reject you if you don't have a working permit. You may meet employer that will accept you, however there are high chances that they will exploit you. And if you are caught, don't bother to rely on your employer because he will be charged too because of you. Why don't you work at your own country? Use the skills that you have learned when you are in studying and apply them into you life. It may hard but hey! Life is not a bed of roses. Don't forget if you go abroad, more money will be spent and higher chances of being stuck in a fraud. Don't risk your life and time on foreign lands that you don't know well.

Do US laptops work in Malaysia

Do US laptops work in Malaysia?
I am moving to Malaysia and would like to buy a laptop to use there. I am thinking of purchasing one at an electronics store here in the US. Will it work out of the box in Malaysia? Do I need a power adapter or does Malaysia have the same voltage as us? If not, should I buy a Malaysian laptop that is better suited for their voltage or are they identical with the exception of AC/DC adapter?
Malaysia - 15 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Since they are a poorer country the voltage might be different, but I really don't know. As for the laptop, you will be fine. In fact, many US laptops are sold in Malaysia anyway.
2 :
If you are planning to move to Malaysia permanently or for an considerable length of time then I would purchase a laptop while you are over there. Not only would it cost less but if you have any problems with your U.S laptop, then you would have to ship it back home to get it repaired or try and find a Malaysian repair shop. If you are only going for a short period of time then yes, it will work although you would have to buy either a voltage converter or a simple converter to change the plug output. Unfortunately I am not sure what they use over there.
3 :
it will work, they usually sport around 220-240 volts but if you are in a nice hotel, a receptionist will provide you with an adapter
4 :
Most of the laptop power adapter is of worldwide voltage or auto voltage.Do physically check if it is so.The malaysian voltage is of 220-240Volts.The standard power plug point is of the British type with earth.Just get a 2 prong power adapter from any computer stores or hardware stores in Malaysia.Theres no problem with repairs as all major computer companies have their office in Kuala Lumpur. Beware of malaysian snatch thieves. Good luck
5 :
Buy it in Malaysia.Elecrtronics are fairly cheap there. Also as some one else mentioned, servicing it would be difficult if you buy it in the US. I made a mistake of buying an Apple G4 from the US while I live inthe Middle East. It had a major problem from the first day. And I couldn't be bothered to send a heavy computer back to the US for service. Even if you pay a little extra in Malaysia for your laptop it's still worth being able to get it serviced there.
6 :
Yes of course it will work here. But since you'll be MOVING to Malaysia, I wouldn't suggest that. Because of luggage, carrying & etc. won't be that good & will cost some money. You can easily purchase laptops in Malaysia besides on online. Dell, HP, Apple Mac all have centers here & provides online purchase & delivery right to your home. If you would like to make your purchase yourself, here are a few good IT centers for various brands, gadgets & versions at:- Digital Mall, Location: Section 14, Petaling Jaya, State: Selangor. Low Yatt Plaza, Location: near Imbi Monorail Station, Kuala Lumpur. & most shopping malls have their own IT floor as well. Actually most states have computers shops for basic hardwares & softwares.
7 :
Being "poorer" had nothing to do with laptops. Can I suggest that you buy one when you arrive. That way you can be guaranteed that it will work on whatever electrical system you come across and will not have to buy any more attachments. You can always give it away/sell it when you leave
8 :
Buy there or better still get it from Singapore - computer capital of the world - wider choices, better prices! Singapore's voltage is 220 - 240 volts AC, 50 cycles per second (same in Msia). There are two options. If the voltage and cycles are the same as Singapore's you can purchase adapters. The plugs for the outlet are three pronged. You can buy adapters in any hardware store, and they'll cost you between $10.00 and $12.00 Singapore dollars. I recommend the adapter where you can simultaneously plug in two pronged; flat and round, and three pronged plugs. If the voltage and cycles are not compatible you can purchase transformers. Any appliance with a clock in it will not keep the correct time and my colleague tells me her lamps over heat. Stereos will work fine using a transformer, but TV's may be in another format and unable to receive the signal here, so you should check with the manufacturer and see what they recommend (for example a US TV will not work in Singapore; the Singapore signal is sent in PAL format). Any appliances that run continuously or that are used frequently are not recommended to be used with transformers as it can damage the motor after using for a period of time. Any DIY store (same as a hardware store) has a good selection of various transformers and converters. There is also a website that sells these items. They do not provide too much information though so unless you know exactly what you want it may not be too helpful. Here is their address: http://www.travelsupplies.com
9 :
Your laptop will work fine anywhere in the world. Just make sure it comes with a 110/220 universal charger, which should as all laptop are supposed to come with it. Just to be sure, ask to make sure the laptop you are purchasing comes with this universal charger. That will allow you to plug in and charge your battery/laptop and it will work normally. Next, you will need to purchase a universal plug adapter which allows you to plug into any type of plug point in the world as different country/continent uses different type of plug points. Some 3 pins, some 2 pins, some round pins, some flat pins etc etc etc, which I find it makes life complicated for no reason at all. But anyhow, I guarantee you that you will find this small investment in purchansing this little gadget and having it with you whenever you travel, the best investment you have ever made !! Bon voyage !!
10 :
Get an international warranty if you plan to buy in the US. Some of the laptops in US are cheaper... we use this plug http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/86/G_plug.png and you guys use this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/67/P2050397.JPG/449px-P2050397.JPG you can get a travel adapter cheap from wallmart, etc. http://www.selftrading.co.uk/shop/images/uni_power_adapter.jpg Changing the plug from US to Malaysian plug wouldn't cost much too. you can do it over here ( malaysia) GOOD LUCK! and have fun in Malaysia. contact me if you wanna know more about Malaysia =)

breadbasket231 never been to malaysia. Dont listen to him. Malaysia is not a Poor country. We are One of the most developed country in the world. Probably breadbasket231 is still living up a tree and have never learn about world geography. Malaysia electricity is based on the UK system at 220-240V at 50Hz. If yrs is based on a 110V, u can always get an adapter. Dell have their Manufacturing plant in Penang, Malaysia. All laptop that have Intel Processer, the Intel processor is manufactured in Penang, Malaysia. All major Player like SOny, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Hyundai, Compag, Hp, Canon, IBM, Lenovo are all here. That guy is living in a pond. Dont listen to him. James C
12 :
Yes, it will. A laptop is fed via a "mini-transformer" which is capable of automatically adjusting to various input voltage levels. But, you might have the problem that the "funny" US plugs do not fit into the Malaysian power outlets. So, buy your laptop locally or in Singapore. The "poor" countries of Western Europe have the same voltage as Malaysia, so who came up with the idea that electric current levels are related to purchasing power per capita?
13 :
Of course your laptop will work here. Otherwise just buy one in Malaysia, it isnt that expensive either. You will find all the major brands selling laptop here like fish cakes. We have Apples, Toshiba, Compaq, Sony etc. For heaven sakes, dont listen to the first answerer. He must have been hiding in his cave all his life. Electronic goods are cheap.
14 :
When i visited the U.S in 2003, i bought a laptop from Portland, Oregon and it worked just fine in Malaysia. The laptop came with an adaptor. The voltage in U.S and Malaysia is different. You can buy cheap good brands laptops at the IT fairs there. Breadbasket ... you sounded so dumb!! For your info, Intel and Hewlett Packard hv big factories there. The country is one of the biggest manufacturers of computer chips and hardware and other electronic parts in the world. Their computers are sold in the U.S. Maybe you ought to read or get out of your cocoon.
15 :
braed,if u r not sure don't mess, but u seem to be no# 1, congratulation! it sound like Malaysian voltage is 110 minus 1 or 2 or 3 = 109/108/107 volt. but it comes out to be 220/240 volts. much bigger than urs, surprise!

It's not difficult getting work in Malaysia, especially if you are skilled in a certain area. You may have to be willing to accept relatively lower wages as compared to what you get in the U.K. though. However, if you get employed on expatriate terms you would be living very comfortably here. If you can't find work, no worry, just be enterprising and think of something you have in the U.K. and that Malaysia doesn't have and try to sell it here. There are quite a number of self employed foreigners in Malaysia and many of them are doing very well for themselves. Just be positive and you will surely find a way to make a good living in a country with opportunity.

I bought a Wii console in Canada and now I'm going to use it in Malaysia. Will it work

I bought a Wii console in Canada and now I'm going to use it in Malaysia. Will it work?
Do i have to do anything specific to make it work in Malaysia? How about the video system (PAL or NTSC)?
Nintendo Wii - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
I'm not an electrician but my understanding of PAL and NTSC is that: 1) they run on different power frequencies, where NTSC is 60hz and PAL is 50hz so an NTSC Wii will need a type of frequency converter to power it on. The games will work only in that Wii because games are either PAL or NTSC also, unless it has been modified. 2) Then there is the TV.The PAL TV will not understand the NTSC signal being sent to it. I believe you can buy a converter for the signal. If you buy PAL games you will need to Hack the Wii to force that signal to NTSC for the Wii to understand it. PAL games in an NTSC Wii usually show a green screen on the TV. Hope that helps?
2 :
Your Wii and any games you've bought in Canada will work, but any games you buy in Malaysia will not work, since Wiis are region locked and you will be in a different region (Malaysia is a PAL region, whereas Canada is an NTSC region). The only way to play games overseas would be with a mod chip called Wiikey. Check out this link for more information: http://www.wiikey.cn/ Also, it would be a good idea to read the disclaimer: http://www.wiikey.cn/disclaimer/

Is that 3000 per week or month??? i just read this page http://www.scribd.com/doc/2370468/AIESEC-Malaysia-Reception-Package this will give you an idea of a few things. Personally, I think you should go job shopping first before you commit leave the country; and according to what I read on the link I think you should ask for a little bit more. I know your young and this might be your first career mark .Just make sure if they want you to sign a contract committing you to this job for some time you tell them that you will after a month or 2 of working there. for 2 reasons, the company may suck (meaning miserable atmosphere) and you should make sure that they are paying you a competitive wage by job shopping elsewhere when you arrive.... (just dont let them know). Who knows maybe a different company is willing to pay you more to work for them... and maybe your profession is highly in demand that's why you got the job offer fresh out of school. Just dont be afraid to negotiate and ask for more money; All they can say is "NO"....hey, i hope this helps. JJ
2 :
Possible if you not lavish lifestyle and dont have to fork out big sum on accommdation and transport. Ask for more RM if you can, would help somewhat.
3 :
Make sure you are employable. Lots of unemployable graduates in Malaysia. If you do not go main-main in the evening, RM3K/month is OK, but Computer Engineer ? Wow ! you should be able to get at least 5K, and not be living alone long...
4 :
3k kinda low.. but if living alone then i guess it OKAY
5 :
i think it's enough, for fresh grad like you can earn RM3000 consider ok. Many people work for many years the salary haven't reached RM3000. rent a house I think around RM700 if not in city center, then transport maybe RM300, food RM300, others RM500. you still got RM1200 to send back home.
6 :
living alone, small apartment, small car or public transport..its will be fine..

"Malay (Bahasa Melayu) is the official language of the nation. Other languages spoken in the country are Chinese dialects (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Teochew, Hainan, Foochow), an Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Punjabi." "English is also widely spoken by Malaysians and it is also a compulsory subject in primary and secondary education. The English language is sometimes used in official correspondence and examinations are based on British English though there has been much American influence through television. However, English as spoken in Malaysia has been diverging, and is known locally as Manglish. Manglish, an English based creole, is very similar to Singlish, the English spoken in Singapore, though the slang terms tend to be different."
3 :
trust me, there are a whole bunch of expats who don't know Malay working in Malaysia, and they survive well. It won't harm if u can only speak english, unless your work involves meeting with the lower-class people. I think it would be a major plus point if u're a caucasian... empoyers here tend to revere the caucasians for some unknown reasons. The only bad thing is some hawkers may charge the caucasians higher price bcoz they think white people who come here are wealthy.
4 :
you will get the advantage of learning Malaysia Language. Nothing to regret. For working, i think if you get a job in city such Kuala Lumpur, almost the places used English as the main language, but somehow, they still keep our nation language. They will happy to hear you speaking nation language. And the most thing is, if you learn our nation language, you can easily communicate with rural people when you visit outside main city. it such a benefit for you too. thanks :)

How can a foreigner work in Malaysia?

6 :
You need a job offer to start the process going. The immigration department won't give him a working visa otherwise. I do know some people come in and out of Malaysia on a tourist visa and work, but that's illegal. I'm on a spouse visa. My wife is Malaysia, I'm Aussie. Still need an job to get in but easier. Used to work for people, but started own company. That could be an option for you (start own business), but there are conditions to be filled as well. Immigration department has a few different types of visa's for foreigners. Defined by Skills and conditions. Suggest you go to putrajaya and check it out. They are quite friendly and very effiecient (compared to when I first came over in 1997). Going down there next week to renew my visa. Cheers

Can US citizen work in Malaysia permanently

Can US citizen work in Malaysia permanently?
I was born in Malaysia, and when I was 19 I immigrated to USA. Now I am a US citizen. I would like to move back to Malaysia and work there permanently while still carrying US citizenship. -What do I need to do in terms of paperwork? Do I need to pay taxes for US and Msia? -What do I need to do if I would like to become Msia citizen again? Please help me out!... Thank you.

2 :
You can try to regain your Malaysian Citizenship with birth certificate. However, Malaysia government doesn't allow dual citizenship. Therefore, you have to denounce US Citizenship when you regain your Malaysian citizenship. Regarding US Tax, you still have to file it as long as your US Citizen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaysian_nationality_law http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=df4wxhk3_32gvcbk8fq http://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/services/visitors/entry-requirements-into-malaysia
3 :
You could secure a Permanent Resident status in Malaysia relatively easy, especially if you could land onto a job with a work permit first. From there you could work here permanently as you like. You will need to pay Msia tax for sure, and about 3-4 years back US has decided to tax on US citizen even that they work overseas. However, you will be paying significantly lesser US tax if you stay away from the country for more than 11 months (plus minus) Hope it helps.

NO ! work pass is for work not study . unless for PART TIME STUDY , the answer is YES. you need to work for 8 hours a day for 6 day ? how you going for full time study >? also those " school " will not take you as full time student . except part time.
2 :
You cannot "study" on a work permit, unless it is for part-time study related to your work,[e.g. training] and sponsored by your employer. In this case, the Labour Dept and the Immigration Dept. may have to be informed [by your employer], If you are caught studying on a work permit, or working on a study permit, your permit will be canceled if you do not have very good and valid reasons. If you have a work permit and "abscond", your employer would report this to the Immigration Dept. [for his own good].... Learning institutions will require that you have a study/student permitbefore admitting you [including prepayment of full course fees for one year]....

Can Indians in Malaysia work in fast food (burger) restaurants

Can Indians in Malaysia work in fast food (burger) restaurants?
Here in Canada there's so many Punjabis (sikhs) that work in burger restaurants. Its like they don't care about it at all. I know Malaysian Indians consider the cow as holy. But do they actually handle beef patties? This is a serious question
Malaysia - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Sikhs don't consider cow anymore holy than a buffalo or any other cattle/animal.
2 :
When it comes to survival without better alternatives in sight, even Muslims will have to start eating pork. This is my point. The same applies to the Sikhs in Canada as well. When they have no choice to earn an honest living in a foreign country that eat beef as the norm, they will have to break the rules in order to stay surviving. Or else, being too stringent with the rules will just be counterproductive. At least, they refrain from eating the beef, which is still acceptable. They only handle the patties as part of their job to earn a living. They are not involved in slaughtering the beef, cooking them, or even eating them.
3 :
try taking a look at Burger King @ KLCC... most of the staffs in the kitchen are Indians.. and Burger King has great beef burgers.. i guess they are not as fanatic as the malays... where they don't mind handling the food but not eating it. Just like the UITM students taking up veterinary. They need to handle pigs and dogs as a training.
4 :
Yes they do. They just handle it like the rest of the staffs. There are Chinese that don't eat beef & there are many Malaysians Indians that eat beef too (e.g. Christians/Muslim convert). Same goes for many industry. Just to share with you this... Did you know there are many shoes, bags, watch, even pen casing & etc. made of leather e.g. pig skin, cow & etc. I went to Midvalley's sports stores to get some hiking & sports shoes. I noticed there's a trend/pattern of how some store assistants hold the shoes & etc. e.g. take plastic/paper to offer the shoe & only hold the inner lining. Initially I thought wow very gentlemen/polite manners, so I chatted with them. It's only then I found out that, by that method they don't come in direct contact with pig skin & etc. (besides hand contact - sweat/oil not good for the goods) I further inquired what if they accidentally touch or have to use it. e.g. certain balls uses animal skin & polo boots uses pig skin as it's extra soft & durable. They said it's ok, as long as they wash their hands later before eating & not consuming it in anyway.

Can a Muslim in Malaysia work in the alcohol industry? As in own and distribute alcohol

Can a Muslim in Malaysia work in the alcohol industry? As in own and distribute alcohol?
I'm curious to know if there is a restriction, whether the islamic law applies to just Malaysian muslims or all muslim in the country.
Law & Ethics - 3 Answers

1 :
Of course Islam is of one standard. Legally it's probably alright, but if you want to stick up for your faith, well...
2 :
I am not familiar with Malaysia. But in other predominantly Muslim countries such as Kuwait, Syria, Bahrain and elsewhere. Only non Muslims can drink or buy alcohol. I am going to assume the same applies to sale and distribution. A Muslim breaking alcohol restrictions in Malasia would be subject to Sharia, the religious court. I imagine facing a caning. Not a good idea. And converting to another religion not an option. Many Muslim countries deal with that by beheading.
3 :
The consumption of alcohol is completely forbidden in Islam and so is selling and you shouldn't work in an alcohol industry either, and income derived from alcohol sales is also haram.

How can i get the immegration of Malaysia or open work permit

How can i get the immegration of Malaysia or open work permit?
I am ANIS AHMAD from Pakistan. I have don my graduation in commerce. I like to live and work in Malaysia. Any one can guide me how can i get the permanent residency in Malaysia or work permite to work in Malaysia.
Malaysia - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Hi Anis, to get PR in Malaysia is not easy in short period unless you can contribute something to the country, but to apply work permit I suggest that you apply any job related to your expertise whether with Malaysian Company or Foreign Co which need you to be based in Malaysia, this company will be your guarantor in application your permit as every foreigner work here need a guarantor. If u just come without any confirm proper job then you might facing problem likes the company will hire you without any proper documentation. There's another way, maybe you get marry to Malaysian, this true but if i were you I wont choose this way.
2 :
It is quite imposible to obtain PR in Malaysia, even if you are married to a Malaysian. Unless you can contribute something extraordinary ... For a work permit, you need a confirmation of employment( one which no Malaysians can be found to do it) .... Improvwe your English...and have a working knowledge of Malaysia's official language - Malay. You should be in good health. with no criminal records (INTERPOL will check...)
3 :
Forget about getting Malaysian permanent residency for the time being, it's not that easy. Sorry to say, i think it would be a little difficult for you to secure a job related to your studies if you want to come here as a professional. Most Malaysian companies only employ foreigners if they are skill in specific fields like engineering, nursing, technicians etc but for someone with a degree with a commerce, i would say it is a little difficult to secure a job here. Anyway, difficult doesn't mean impossible, you may try to look for a company that wants to hire you. Once you are hired, the company will apply working permit for you. On this working permit, you don't have to worry because you just need to get your passport ready, a medical checkup report, copy of your degree and other relevant documents and a few photo of yours. At the moment almost all the Pakistani who are working in Malaysia enter Malaysia with a working permit as "unskilled workers". I don't think this is suitable in terms of nature of work and salary. Anyway if you want to go through this channel, it's easy, just go to any employment agency in Pakistan that send workers to Malaysia. They'll will find the employer for you, you don't have to go searching yourself. You may also ask them if they have any employer that wants to employ professional, if yes that it would be very easy for you. However the probably charge you a very high fee.
4 :
I am a Malaysian married to a foreigner and even for her it is tough so i think unless you marry a Malaysian getting a PR here is impossible ! becareful of job offers by agents before coming to malaysia i know many people who get promises of high salary only to be cheated on arrival . They also make you pay huge fees !!!!

Well you cant legally work till your 16 but if you can work under the personal charge of your parents http://www.icftu.org/www/pdf/clsmalaysia2006.pdf You have to understand that these laws were to protect "children " from hard labour . If you and you wizz kid freinds can convince your parents to agree to some net business do it ! Where ? Cyberspace my dear :)
3 :
No.... why ? Because in Malayia, you should be attending school, which is free (National schools) : 6 years primary schools (age 6 to 12), 3 years lower secondary (age 13 to 15) 2 years upper secondary (age 16 to 18). After that, you are free to work.... However, at age 16, if you fail your UPSR and cannot go into form 4, you can work.......
4 :
no but boy yes girl start to work at 16 years
5 :
For time being, you can set up a table at the front of your house selling currypuff, friednoodle, nyonya kuih, nasi lemak.. i'ld be your regular customer.
6 :
at your age, you should look towards family and friends. maybe they can reccommend you into a job.
7 :
Yes, you can. But there is a limitation, read below: - According to Malaysia labor law, children between the age of 14 and 16 years are * only allow to work between 7 AM until 8 PM * not allow to work for 4 consecutive hours without a period of rest. Period of rest shall be at least 30 minutes * not allow to work for more than 7 hours. If attending school, total working and schooling hours shall not be more than 8 hours a day * not allow to commence work with less than 12 rest hours a day

Unfortunately they are not compatible as Malaysia and Europe (and most of the known world) use a network called GSM whereas America use CDMA However, you can take it to a local store who can unlock the iPhone for a nominal fee and reload it using the CDMA network :-)
2 :
Probably, if it is a multi band model and works with Celcom....but on registration with AT&T, you may need to pay extra, as you are not buyig the phone from them.....
3 :
Like the gentleman said above you could unlock the phone then you can load a prepaid sims to any phone carrier here in the U.S. You might also ask your AT&T provider (Malaysia) if international roaming are available, meaning you can call Malaysia anytime w/o any problem. Of course, that will be an extra charge on your phone bill from AT&T.

Will xbox 360 games bought in malaysia work on a console which was bought in Australia

Will xbox 360 games bought in malaysia work on a console which was bought in Australia?
I know there's an issue with the region or something, how does it all work? Also, are controllers the same? Last thing, are PC games different? Will they work?
Malaysia - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
sure why not, the only thing that is not the same is the electrical plug on the console
2 :
Xbox 360 games are unusual in that they do not necessarily have region coding. It is up to the publisher to decide whether or not to include the region coding in their games. This means that for some games, it is possible to buy the Australian versions and still use them on your Xbox 360 no matter what region it is (malaysia, singapore etc). Malaysia is a PAL country..and so is australia..so,the answer is yes.. EDIT : controller the same.. EDIT(again) : For pc games They're not region-locked, and no, they're not subject to differences in resolution either. PC resolutions are universal, you got yer 800x600, yer 1024x768, yer 1280x768, yer 1280x720, yer 1920x1024, and yer 1920x1080. Games are generally versatile in being able to adapt across various res's and many will allow you to play in a window if it doesn't match the res exactly.
