SA...South America? South Australia? South Africa? South Arabia? Well, let me first explain how this works. Different parts of the world use different video standards. For example, UK uses PAL and US uses NTSC. Wii games bought from an NTSC region will not work on a Wii from a PAL region and vice-versa. Malaysia is PAL. Both South Africa and South Australia are PAL, so if you mean one of those, then yes, games from Malaysia will work on your Wii.

probably not
2 :
no.
3 :
yes
4 :
It won't if the DVD is region coded or if the friend in Malaysia have a different type of DVD player.
5 :
yes it will
6 :
I dont see why not are their DVD players different than ours
7 :
It should.
8 :
it depends on their dvd player, check to see if they can play region 1 dvds, if they can then yes
9 :
why wouldnt it a DVD is a DVD
10 :
why don't you just send her money and she can buy the DVD in her own country...just incase
11 :
nope. diff regions. DVD are classed in regions.
12 :
Not unless your friend has a region free DVD player. The US uses region 1 DVD's, and Malaysia uses another region (3, maybe?). At any rate, I once made the mistake of buying a DVD in Europe (region 2) and trying to play it in my lovely region 1 DVD player *wince* so I can assure you it won't work.
13 :
each dvd player has a region code built into it. so does each dvd. If the region codes match, it will play. If not, no. However, there are programs that are available that can remove the region code so that it can be played on their computer.
14 :
i dont think so dude therr dvd polauyer down there might be diffrent from ours
15 :
If the dvd has no regional coding and their player has no regional code, it will play. Check the back of the case it came in to see what regional coding it has.
16 :
US is region 1. Malaysia is region 3. Not compatable.. won't work. (Unless they happen to have a "US" DVD player.
17 :
It depends on the DVD format and on the DVD player. There are some dvd players that would read almost everything, even bootleg dvd's. So you better check with your friend about the type of player he has. check out this link http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/3193231/002-2090700-1333662
18 :
Probably not. DVDs are produced in what are called different 'regions', and dvd players are produced to play the different regions. So if your friend doesn't have the same region as the US dvd, then it will not play. Some dvds allow for switching back and forth between regions, but only a limited number of times. Your friend may be able to play the dvd on their computer, depending on a whole bunch of factors, but then again, they may not. Your best bet is to see if you can't buy the dvd somehow in Malaysia for them (through the internet, or another friend, perhaps?)
19 :
No, unless they have a region free DVD player. US is Region 1 and Malaysia is part of Region 3. You can send them a US DVD player, but that may be too pricey. Just send them some cash and tell them to buy the disc there.
20 :
no it won't if it don't have the right type of coding
21 :
yes!!! beacuse all the dvd's int he world are all the same and dvd's are dvd's... or you can call your freind to ask what is the brand of his dvd plyer...that's easy...
22 :
as long as the DVD has not region code, or your friend is NOT using Sony DVD player, it should work.
23 :
it's gona work. 100%. because the problems like this usually have VCR and not DVD. DVD format is the same over the world. Belive me.
24 :
it is possible but the DVD and the player must be from the same zone. there are 7 zones around the world. the player may not be able to read the information from that disc.only if that disc is manufactured for that zone will it work.
25 :
If you having problems deciding who to believe, go with the smarter sounding ones, which are the ones that say no. The people that say that it definitely will are just plain stupid, and are just looking to score points. Aside from that link that someone provided from Amazon.com, here is another link that is the end-all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code
