Depends who you get to do it? I used an agent a few years ago and it cost around $300 through the company I work for. Not sure if this is typical. I'd start by speaking to someone from the Malaysian embasy. Good luck

It depends some of the companies esp. MNC are willing to pay the work permit & process it for their employees. But for your case, if you want assurance it's better to consult the nearest Malaysian embassy. They will provide you a detail explanations, process & procedures & etc.

Go to http://www.imi.gov.my. You'll find all the information there. Exchange Rate : 1 USD = Ringgit (RM) 3.25 ( as at 11th January 2008 ) The amount show in the above website is the amount payable to the Immigration Dept. of Malaysia which is the official amount. It is the responsibility of your employer to submit your application to apply for the work permit at NO COST. However in some companies especially the smaller ones, they'll get an agent to do that ,to safe them all the hassles and service fee charged by the agent would eventually charged to you (some companies are willing to bear this cost) The fee charged by an agent varies from agents to agents but it shouldn't be more than USD300.00.

Can I bring a broadband modem from other other country to Malaysia? Will it work?
I'm going to be in Malaysia/KL for a couple of weeks, and noticed that the local 'landline' broadband providers seem to do deals 'with' or 'without' modem. Seeing as I have one or two spare ones lying about here in the UK, will I be able to use it if I bring it with me to KL and use it with the networks there? Thanks!

Will a dvd from Malaysia work in a American ps2 or dvd player?
There is this dvd that i want to buy that someone is selling on ebay, but they are from malaysia and the dvd was bought in that country. so its the malaysia version even though is comes in english subtitles. i know some dvds dont work in other dvd players from another country. i was just hoping that since it comes in english, it would work....so does anyone know? its this dvd http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270659101415&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

DVD from other countries will not play on US made players.

It will only work in a region-free DVD player. A standard American DVD player will not be able to play it.

Don't worry, they just give you a public beating and then deport you.

The answer by Jeffis quite right. From my own encounters as an eye witness. The malaysian police are the ones doing the checking around towns and cities here. Their normal "punishment" is to take ( rob ) your mobile phone , cash and valuables and let you go off with a "warning". If it is the Immigration officers, they only comes after you after they receives public complaints. Their usual corrupted "punishment " will cost you 2000 ringgit or malaysian money. Yes, they do beats you up if you can't pay them what they demanded. ( Not related to your question ) Hereby by answering your question openly here in Yahoo. Any Malaysian police or Malaysian Immigration dept can always challenges me and to show proof . Signed - Khun Pana

Sorry ! Sir . Malaysia and EU Countries will not recognised you professionals as Doctors. To work in Malaysia , you need to DROWN GRADE . as Pharmacist's or work at Pharmaceutical Industry .you still have fair chance to get such jobs in Malaysia with work pass issue. To get jobs in any EU countries , the chance is very slim or = 0 ! if you like to joint Malaysia Pharmaceutical Industry , go to employments agents should bethe better way for you.
