Yes, all non-Malaysian who wish to work in Malaysia are required to apply for a working permit. Go to the following website to get more information on this. http://www.imi.gov.my

No you don't need work permit first, but if there is company agree on you working in Malaysia (with them) then why not apply first because commonwealth country were allowed to stay in Malaysia 2 month as visitor.... then special visa or permit will be issue later......(upon request) you can apply before coming in to Malaysia via Malaysian Embassy or when you already here in Putrajaya check this out http://www.imi.gov.my/eng/im_Page1.asp

You can enter on a 3 month visitor visa (not 2 months as previously stated) and if you find employment you can then apply for a work and residence permit. Commonwealth countries do not have embassies, they have high commissions.

yes u need but work in M;sia is in RM compare with Pound 6.5 why u want to work here unless they pay u very high pay
